CEO
Emil Yankov, PhD is a third generation professional in the field of medicine. He is a health care entrepreneur and graduated from Technical University (Sofia), Medical University (Sofia) and Sheffield University with master’s degrees. He started his professional career in 1998, dealing with technical maintenance and repair of medical equipment. In 2014, he fulfilled his big dream and “Serdika” opened its doors – under one roof are a hospital, a hospice and a residence for the elderly. In 2018, he opened the Residence for the elderly “Serdika” – Bankya, in 2020 the only Center for robotic rehabilitation in Bulgaria – ReGo – was opened, and in 2022 another Residence for the elderly began to work – in Rudartsi. Emil is married with three children, keenly interested in the development of technological solutions to help the elderly and people with disabilities, as well as investments in the health sector.
COO
Yordanka is a graduated midwife and after graduating, she worked at renowned hospitals in Sofia. She is a graduate of the First English High School and graduated from the Medical University – Sofia with honors as a Master of Health Management. She has developed her own business in the field of services for over 10 years and has been working at Serdika Hospital since 2017. Now, Yordanka is the Chief Operations Officer, and her main goal is to provide the best medical experience for our patients. Responsible for the organization, control, and coordination between the different bases of the company. Her rich professional experience in the healthcare industry makes her an expert in the field. She speaks English and German and studies Italian. Yordanka is a happy mother of five great children and loves her job.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
Dr. Metodi Yankov has a rich 40-year management experience in healthcare. Graduated in medicine in 1979. He has three specialties – Obstetrics and Gynecology, Social Medicine and Health Economics and two master’s degrees – Health Policy and Health Management and Social Activities.
He managed the largest acute care hospitals in the country – Maichin Dom University Hospital, First Acute Care Hospital “Sveta Sofia”, Third Acute Care Hospital in Sofia. He held managerial positions in the Ministry of Health, was the executive director of the Metropolitan Medical Holding. He is the first director of the Metropolitan Health Insurance Fund.
Dr. Yankov is the founder and manager of “Serdika” Medical Center since 2010.
He is married, has two children, three grandchildren, likes to travel and communicate with different people.
Director rehabilitation and physical therapy
Dimitar was born in Sofia, he completed his professional qualification at several universities: Medical College “Yordanka Filaretova” at the Medical University – Sofia majoring in “Rehabilitation”, Faculty of Public Health at the Medical University – Sofia – majoring in “Medical Rehabilitation and Balneology”, subsequently graduated from the National Sports Academy with a major in “Kinesitherapy in Orthopedics and Traumatology”, as well as from the New Bulgarian University – “Business Administration”. He also completed dozens of courses and specializations in Bulgaria and abroad. In 2013, he established the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at “Serdika”, trained dozens of professional therapists, leads a student practice at the Medical University – Sofia and participates in examination committees. Communicates with both staff and patients with ease.
Development manager
Lyuboslav has been part of the team since June 2019. He is a former professional competitor and European fencing champion. Lyuboslav has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is currently completing a master’s degree in health management.
He completed training in project management and is dedicated to the development of new Serdika projects. He has a son, is happily married, and loves to travel.
Sales director
Pavel started working as a commercial director at “Serdika” in April 2019. He has more than eight years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical industry. He has a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics and a master’s degree in Financial Management. He regularly meets with doctors and medical staff, is credited with putting together marketing projects and excels at the managerial nature of his work. Pavel is happily married.
CFO
Plamen started working as a CFO at “Serdika” in April 2020. He has more than 18 years of experience in external and internal audit as well as extensive experience with preparing and analyzing NAS and IFRS compliant financial statements. He has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and control and a master’s degree in Financial control as well as he is a chartered accountant, qualified ACCA member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in London, UK. Plamen spends his leisure time hiking and trekking in Bulgaria’s beautiful mountains.
PR manager
Gergana joined the team in early 2019, creating and developing Serdika’s social media, organizing special events and health premieres. Today, she takes care of the company’s public relations and event management. She graduated with three master’s degrees – Economics of Tourism from UNWE, Preschool Pedagogy from Sofia University and Media and Journalism with a specialization in Public Relations from UNWE. In 2023, she completed her PhD at UNWE, and the topic of her dissertation is related to PR in the health sector. Gergana has extensive television and stage experience as a presenter, has her own TV show on topics from health to art, she is author of children’s books and writes articles for FLM magazine. She is married, has a daughter, and is interested in processes for improving the information fauna in the health sector. She likes to travel.
